Markus Luomala was awarded First Prize at the 2026 Miguel Romea Conducting Institute Competition. A Finnish conductor active in both orchestral and choral conducting, he has studied with Jorma Panula and completed advanced conducting studies at the Royal Danish Academy of Music and the Royal College of Music in Stockholm.

He serves as Artistic Director of the Kaari Ensemble and the chamber choir Pohjalaisten Osakuntien Laulajat (POL). In August 2026, he made his debut at the Helsinki Opera Summer Festival, conducting the world premiere of the large-scale work Bilepassio (Friday Passion).

Yuki Tokuhara was awarded Second Prize at the 2026 Miguel Romea Conducting Institute Competition. Born in 2000, he studied conducting at the Toho Gakuen School of Music, where he completed the OC Conducting Course with top-tier academic standing. He has further developed his artistry through masterclasses with distinguished conductors including Tadaaki Otaka, Ryusuke Numajiri, Tatsuya Shimono, Samuel Couffigna, and Miguel Romea, and also conducted at the closing concert of a summer seminar in Vienna.

By receiving this award, Yuki also became the first Japanese conductor ever to win a prize at the Miguel Romea Conducting Institute, an important milestone for both him and the internacional history of the course.

Andrés Gutiérrez Campillo was awarded Third Prize at the 2026 Miguel Romea Conducting Institute Competition. A Spanish conductor and saxophonist, he is currently Music Director of Grupo Intermezzo of the Agrupación Musical Montesinos and regularly appears as a guest conductor with youth ensembles. His artistic development has included advanced conducting training and masterclasses with distinguished conductors such as Riccardo Muti, Virginia Martínez, and José Vicente Pérez. His experience also includes conducting the Wind Band of the Federation of Musical Bands of the Region of Murcia and performing as a solo saxophonist with the Municipal Symphonic Band of Alicante at the ADDA.
